The project includes a 225 m high rockfill dam with an earth core, with a total fill volume of approximately 19 million cubic meters (19 Mm³). The reservoir has a total storage capacity of 2.72 billion cubic meters, and the facility features an installed generation capacity of 2,400 MW. The project is located upstream of the confluence (mouth) of the Ituango River.
